Jacquelyn Dupont-Walker, known as Jackie, is the founding president of the Ward Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), a faith-centered organization serving South Los Angeles for 35 years. A pioneering Black graduate of Florida State University, she holds a Master of Social Work from Atlanta University and has various credentials, including being a licensed clinician in California. In 2022, she received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Payne Seminary. Following the recent loss of her husband, she is supported by a blended family of eight.

Under her leadership, WEDC produced 414 units of affordable housing and developed notable projects such as Casa de Rosas for Veterans and the upcoming King Solomon Village. WEDC also partnered in creating Chesterfield Square, generating approximately 600 jobs. Jackie has held numerous influential roles, including appointments to various policy boards and commissions, and continues to serve on the LA Metro Board, focusing on small business inclusion and community outreach. She strives for accountability and community empowerment in her endeavors.
