KSV currently provides a unique shelter type environment for 100 persons (60 males – 40 females) who can remain while working closely with dedicated staff to stabilize their lives and rebuild their futures. Each resident has his/her own “pod,” which offers a sense of privacy in an enclosed area, complete with essential amenities such as a bed for restful sleep, a closet for personal belongings, and an outlet for electronic charging to stay connected with the outside world. The thoughtful design includes shelves for additional storage needs and a comfortable pad for up to a 30 lb. pet, recognizing the importance of companionship and emotional support during the transition to a more stable living situation. This nurturing environment not only fosters personal growth but also promotes a sense of community among residents as they navigate the challenges ahead together.
Within five years, WEDC will begin construction to create workforce housing, aiming to provide affordable and accessible living options for essential employees in our community. This initiative is crucial as it addresses the growing need for sustainable housing solutions that support our local workforce. As part of this project, various amenities and services will be incorporated to enhance the quality of life for residents. NOTE: The service provider is FTS (First To Serve).
